| 02/17/2010 | Founded in 1991, Living Cities is an philanthropic collaborative of 22 of the world's largest foundations and financial institutions. Our members participate at the senior management level on the Living Cities Board of Directors and craft and implement our agenda, which is focused on improving the lives of low-income people and the urban areas in which they live. The Fund will provide a unique platform for ?triple bottom line? returns, including: financial return of 2 - 3% annually; An environmental return in the form of reduced energy consumption and avoided GHG emissions: A social return that saves money and creates jobs for low-income people. ?The creation of the Fund is part of our intentional strategy to ensure that low-income people and places can benefit from the emerging green economy,?
