| 02/17/2010 | Sarasin describes this fund as the first of its kind. It is called the Sarasin Sustainable Equity-Real Estate Global Fund and will invest in a broad spread of listed property companies and REITs. The fund came to market on July 10, 2009. The Fund is targeting an 8-10 percent total return on investment. The fund's investment strategy will be devised by the group's Sustainable Research team in Basel in tandem with a team of property investment experts at Sarasin & Partners in London. The Fund invests worldwide in listed shares and equity securities of companies whose activities are concentrated mainly in the real estate sector and which take ecological and social sustainability issues into account in their business operations. Particularly important here is the reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. These companies are also expected to maintain good relations with the different parties involved (incl. tenants, suppliers, employees and society).
