10/05/2005 James McKenna has been providing real estate investment solutions to Taft-Hartley investors for almost 25 years. As Principal, Mr. McKenna is active in all phases of the business, including portfolio management, acquisitions, dispositions and client reporting. Prior to the formation of American, Mr. McKenna was Founder, President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Am Cal Advisors, Inc., a registered investment advisor which was a subsidiary of Glendale Federal Bank. Mr. McKenna has spent over 30 years in the real estate, real estate finance and construction industries. In 1976 he founded AmCal Realty, developing a real estate program for Taft-Hartley pension funds and other institutional investors. During this time, Mr. McKenna was appointed to the position of Commissioner of the City of Los Angeles. Mr. McKenna also served for eight years as a Trustee, and alternately as President and Vice President, of the Los Angeles City Employees\' Retirement System, where he spearheaded the modernization of the fund\'s investment strategies and diversification into alternative investments. Mr. McKenna was educated at the University of California-Los Angeles and has completed continuing education in real estate finance, appraisal, real estate law and real estate investment properties. He is a member of the board of governors of the National Real Estate Forum and of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors. He holds the professional designations of Certified Real Estate Financier (CRF) and Counselor of Real Estate (CRE), and also has a NASD Series 7 license. -- pwitham
