04/23/2008Passed - I like the asset and first tried to buy it many years ago as part of the purchase of Carefree Resorts. To be honest its never worked and knowing John Ceriale who runs their hotel operations its hard to imagine that they just took their eye off it – we would really need to dig in and figure out if we believe the asset can work - I would agree that branding will help. Just not sure I can get anyone geared up in time for what you would need. We would also need to get past the PR your client has been getting and that probably isn’t a good use of your time while you are trying to get this closed or mine while we are busy getting our fund closed. With all of that said it’s an attractive asset that I would be interested in putting some resources on but likely not for a few months until we have our team further built up to manage the new fund. Hopefully you will be long done by then but if it is still an opportunity at that point maybe we could revisit at that time. -- smuller
